Audience Services
Oversee safety, security and regulating the flow of people at Open Air. This crew supports other volunteers, provides information to the public regarding festival activities and ensures the safety of the public. “Eyes and ears” of Open Air. Volunteers must be 18+ years old.

Beer Crew

Sell beer tickets and serve beer and cider. Keep the Beer garden/area clean, safe and organized. Volunteers must be 19+ years of age, serving experience and an outgoing personality an asset.

Concession

Responsible for selling snacks and beverages (i.e. chips and pop) in Centennial Square during events. Should be able to handle cash, be friendly and outgoing.

Front of House
Sell tickets at entrance, welcome public and provide information. Distribute promotional material. Responsible for maintaining a presentable, professional and safe “front of house” area. Volunteers should be comfortable with handling cash and have a friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic demeanor.

Qualified First Aid
This crew deals with all reported injuries and illnesses and provides first aid treatment. Volunteers are required to be doctors, nurses, or first responders and must be 19+ years of age.

Promotion
Distribute promotional material for different Open Air events.

Sales/Merchandising
Required to man the Sales/Merchandising area. Duties include obtaining and maintaining a float (from artist or admin staff), communicating with artist regarding pricing, inventory, etc., and handling and tabulating sales. Experience handling cash preferred, as well as being organized, resourceful, and friendly.

Site Crew
Volunteers are initially required to convert FolkFest into Open Air at the Centennial Square site on Monday July 5th. Duties during Open Air include putting up and taking down site fencing before and after ticketed events – during show you are free to enjoy. Construction and labour experience an asset; ability to lift heavier objects required.

Stage Crew
A volunteer with Stage Crew is treated as an apprentice and thus must be available full-time during the larger ticketed events. Some previous experience is required.

Volunteer Headquarters
This crew provides support for volunteers on site. Duties include signing volunteers in/out, bag check, t-shirt distribution, and maintaining a friendly atmosphere at VHQ.

Criminal Record Checks are required for all volunteers.
