Open
Air has been cancelled for 2009.
Open
Air was a summer-long festival in Victoria that
featured a blend of music, dance, film, visual
and culinary arts.
The
Open Air concert series, weekly programming and
festivals welcomed tens of thousands of people
of all ages to Victoria's civic square between
June 30 and September 9, 2006.
Presently this site is for archival purposes only and contains 2006 programming information.

Open Air looking for new venue in 2008
VICTORIA, CANADA, (March 19, 2007)—In March 2007, TNT Productions made a difficult announcement: it was canceling the popular Open Air series for 2007 due to the lack of an appropriate venue for public celebrations and cultural programming.
Centennial Square, the venue that was home to Open Air from 2003 to 2006, boasts an ideal location in downtown Victoria’s historic town square. Unfortunately, the site has a number of physical limitations—no shelter from the elements, uncomfortable seating and, most significant, the placement of the water feature—that make it a challenging and financially risky venue for producing events like Open Air.
Now, TNT Productions is committed to finding a new venue. “In four short years, Open Air became one of Victoria’s signature summer events,” says Artistic Producer Tracy Summers. “Each year, tens of thousands of people participated in a wide range of activities, from farm markets and culinary programming, to music festivals and concert series. Open Air really enriched this community and we don’t want to lose that. We’re going to bring it back.”
TNT Productions is currently in the process of inheriting Open Air from ICA due to its role in developing the concept for the series from conception through implementation. For more information, visit www.tnt-productions.com.
